Houston, Texas (Jan. 14, 2025) – Police are reporting the death of a construction worker after a vehicle crashed into a construction zone. The crash also resulted in another worker being sent to a nearby hospital with injuries. 

FIrst responders say the construction crew were working a jobsite near White Heather Drive in the 4000 block of West Orem. 

An individual driving a Nissan Sentra failed to obey the warning signs regarding the construction zone and drove into the area. The collision resulted in the death of one worker and injured another. The vehicle continued through the construction zone before ultimately striking another vehicle.

Authorities are currently investigating the possibility that the driver was intoxicated. The driver is currently in police custody and charges are pending at this time.
