Houston, Texas (Dec. 18, 2023) – A teenager has been charged with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the hit-and-run death of a homeless woman.
The 17-year-old reportedly drove on the 1-10 service road in Houston when he attempted to turn onto Silber Road. Reports indicate he was traveling at high speeds, causing him to jump the nearby curb, striking the homeless woman sleeping there before colliding with a wall.
The teenager attempted to flee the scene of the crash, but workers from a nearby Jack in the Box apprehended the teenager. Staff members held him until police arrived on the scene and took him into custody.
The identity of the homeless woman killed in the crash has yet to be released by authorities.
