Houston Car Accident Lawyers
Pedestrian-involved accidents and deaths remain a severe issue in the state of Texas. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, pedestrian traffic fatalities increased by 30% from 2018 – 2022. In 2022 alone, 830 deaths were tallied in accidents involving pedestrians.
In many of these cases, the tragedy of a lost life was preventable. Driver negligence, failure to obey traffic signs, and speeding are all large contributing factors in many pedestrian-involved accidents. In the case above, if the driver is found to be liable for the death of the pedestrian, the surviving family of the victim could potentially file a wrongful death claim.
