Fort Worth, Texas (Sept. 11, 2023)

A major accident that resulted in the deaths of four people occurred on I-35 and injured at least two others. In total, five separate vehicles were involved in the accident.

First, a small crash occurred between two commuter vehicles. Both vehicles pulled to the side of the shoulder following the minor accident. A truck then pulled over to assist both parties following the accident. Shortly after, two 18-wheelers struck the three vehicles, resulting in the deaths of four people.

In one vehicle was 21-year-old Jasmine Jones and 23-year-old Kiara Barker. Jones was pronounced dead at the hospital following the accident. Barker reportedly died at the scene of the crash. Officials confirmed 31-year-old Susana Longoria to have died in the accident. Longoria was reportedly on her way home when the accident occurred. Also involved in the accident was 25-year-old Chase Mapes of Oklahoma:

  • Two other individuals were critically injured in the crash. Those individuals have not been identified at this time. Police are investigating the accident and have ruled out alcohol being a factor at this time.
